The Communist Party leader drew attention to the challenges and complexities of the modern world, emphasizing that only smart, strong, and successful countries can command respect and pursue an independent policy under such conditions. «Belarus has shown us all how to be smart, strong, and successful,» he said. «Belarus may lack oil, gas, gold, diamonds, and iron ore, but it has talented, hardworking people, a proud and heroic history, and a commitment to working the land and serving the people, not the interests of some new oligarch.»
«You have done a great job. You have not allowed oligarchy to take hold here; you have no organized crime. You have done everything to ensure that people can work and feel dignified. That is a difficult task. But you can be proud [of what you have achieved],» Gennady Zyuganov said, addressing the Belarusian people.
He particularly praised the advancements in mechanical engineering and the agro‑industrial complex.
The Communist Party leader also highlighted Belarus’ sound decisions in the field of migration policy. «You have made a wise choice: contracts, fixed terms, decent conditions [for migrants to work and live]. When the job is done, it is goodbye. If there is a need, the contract is renewed. This is something we will need to learn from you,» he said.
