Belarus mulls larger diplomatic presence in Kazakhstan

Belarus plans to expand its diplomatic presence in Kazakhstan. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermukhambet Konuspayev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



The meeting covered the current agenda of Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation. Consideration was given to the development of the bilateral political dialogue and interaction between the foreign ministries.

«The parties discussed the schedule of joint events for the near future and the expansion of Belarus’ diplomatic presence in Kazakhstan,» the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The parties also noted the similarity of Minsk’s and Astana’s positions on establishing a fair world order in Eurasia.

The Embassy of Belarus is currently operating in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana. It is planned that the Consulate General of Belarus will be opened in Almaty by 1 January 2026, in accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of 2 May 2025.
