The talks focused on facilitating increased trade flows between Belarus and Uzbekistan. Bilateral trade is set to double over the next few years, a goal established by the two heads of state during their recent meeting in Minsk.

«The meeting participants discussed the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement on the mutual use of electronic systems for certifying the origin of goods, which was signed in 2024. The adoption of this digital solution will contribute significantly to streamlining bilateral trade and boosting turnover,» the press service noted.

An agreement on the mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status was also signed. The document outlines a number of customs simplifications that businesses will enjoy within the territories of both states.

«Representatives of the State Customs Committee and the Embassy mapped out several promising areas for practical cooperation to help drive up trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan,» the State Customs Committee said.
