Parliamentarians, representatives of ministries, government agencies, and the private sector will focus attention on the development of industrial cooperation, strengthening food security, expanding ties between regions, and humanitarian partnership.
The program of the first day includes a bilateral meeting between the speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament Natalya Kochanova and the speaker of the upper house of the Uzbek parliament Tanzila Narbayeva, sessions of four thematic sections, and a visit to an exhibition of products of leading enterprises of the two countries.
During the sections the participants will discuss a wide range of matters: industrial cooperation, joint investments, realization of labor potential, cooperation in the agribusiness sector (food security and biotechnology). Attention will also be paid to Uzbekistan-Belarus strategic partnership in the humanitarian and social sphere as well as tourism dialogue: from potential to real joint projects.
Heads of the parliamentary chambers of the two states, representatives of the governments, ministries and government agencies, higher education institutions, and the private sector will take part in the plenary session of the Uzbek-Belarusian interparliamentary forum. Most of the attention will focus on employment, higher education, science and innovations, social protection, maternal and child health, cooperation between commercial entities, and poverty reduction.
A declaration is expected to be adopted as a result of the forum and commercial contracts and cooperation agreements (memorandums) are expected to be signed and exchanged.
