Since 1 January 2026, Belarus has welcomed 189,8365 travelers from 38 countries included in the visa-waiver program, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee. 

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with DPRK Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Son Gyong on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, BelTA learned from the ministry’s press service.

Belarus and the Maldives have signed an agreement on a mutual visa waiver, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since 1 January 2026, Belarus has welcomed 169,338 travelers from 38 countries included in the visa-waiver program. The majority of travelers came from Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee. 

In the first half of 2026, the number of foreign tourists visiting Russia increased by 20 per cent to 2.5 million. More than 22 per cent of foreign visitors were Chinese citizens. This was announced by Nikita Kondratiev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. His comments were published on the ministry’s website.

Belarus and the DPRK are preparing to sign a bilateral agreement on visa-free travel for citizens, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
